Questions about ADHD assessment

Can adults be assessed for ADHD?

Yes. Many adults were never assessed as children — ADHD can look different in adulthood, and an assessment is designed to pick up exactly that.

What does the assessment involve?

A clinical interview, ADHD-specific structured interviews and standardized measures, collateral information where helpful, and a feedback session with a written report.

Will the report support workplace or school accommodations?

The report includes findings and recommendations you can bring to your employer or school. Decisions about accommodations rest with the institution, but a formal assessment is usually what they ask for.

What if it turns out not to be ADHD?

That’s still an answer. The assessment clarifies what is going on — and the feedback and recommendations point to what could help next.
